It pays to check - RateCity

When's the last time you checked to see if you're getting the most competitive home loan rate?  Exactly.  Most of don't bother - even though we're probably paying over the odds.

Off the back of their successful Home Loan Sale in 2017, RateCity briefed us to develop a digital acquisition campaign designed to address this behaviour.  And, given that this was a direct response campaign, we had two offers to AB test - 1) A chance to win $1m and 2) $100 Guarantee if the users' home loan rate was more competitive than RateCity's offers.

Offer 1 (A Chance to win $1m) was presented emotively by leveraging the embarrassment of not checking in certain social circumstances.

Offer 2 (A $100 Guarantee) leveraged everyday scenarios where lost money is often found via checking e.g. down the back of the sofa, in an old jacket etc.

Both creative routes leveraged the thought that 'It pays to check'.
